Bernard Nsanzimana is a legal practitioner, researcher, consultant, and academic specializing in property law, land governance, construction law, and natural resources. He currently serves as the Acting Head of the Estate Management and Valuation Department at the University of Rwanda, where he also teaches a wide range of legal and governance-related modules.
With an LLM in Business Law and rich professional experience, Bernard has supported national institutions such as MIFOTRA and NCBS, and has collaborated on major research and consultancy projects with organizations including GIZ Rwanda, FCDO, RMB, Cardno UK, IMPACT, and Pact World. His work spans governance, community rights, mining, land administration, and policy.
Bernard is also a strong gender advocate, having co-founded WIAMO (Rwanda Women In & And Mining Organization) and led community initiatives focused on supporting women and vulnerable groups in resource-rich communities. His mentorship work is widely recognized, as he has guided many students and young professionals in navigating academic, legal, and career challenges.
At EHER, Bernard offers mentorship in ethics, governance, law, and gender inclusion, helping women and youth build confidence, understand their rights, and strengthen their professional foundations in real estate and the built environment.
